New management team members

Head of Sourcing Anssi Koivula and Head of Sustainability Anna Rahikainen have been appointed to the Management Team of The European Pizza Company.

The appointments support the company’s vision of bringing together a leading European collection of sustainable local pizza brands.

Anssi Koivula, a Finnish citizen, has more than 20 years of top leadership experience in the procurement and supply chain management of sustainable food ingredients locally and internationally. At present, he serves as Managing Director of the sourcing and logistics operator Helsinki Foodstock Oy and Chief Procurement Officer of Kotipizza Group, a company that manages fast casual restaurant chains. He is also part of the Board of Directors of the food importer SeaGood Oy Fort Deli. As Head of Sourcing, Koivula will be responsible for The European Pizza Company’s joint procurement operations and creating synergies in that space for the company’s brands. He will be starting in the new role 1 January 2024.

Anna Rahikainen, also a Finnish national, has worked 10 years in the field of corporate sustainability, communications and sustainability reporting. Most recently, Anna has worked as Sustainability Director of Kotipizza Group where she has specialised in innovating sustainability leadership and transformation within the franchising and restaurant business. As Head of Sustainability, Rahikainen will focus on strengthening The European Pizza Company’s sustainability agenda and capabilities as well as ensure value creation from sustainable operations for the company, its brands and stakeholders. She has started in the new role 1 November 2023.
